64-bit technology changes SCD server infrastructure
With the release of the SCD Version 4.9 in February 2011, for the first time SimCorp offers a 64-bit version of SimCorp Dimension. IT decision makers, who haven’t got in touch with a 64-bit migration project, should get a move on. The upgrade to version 5.0 in autumn 2011 or version 5.1 in January 2012 will renounce the 32-bit systems. As a consequence, the operating systems Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008, configured on 32- bit versions, won’t be supported anymore from this time on.
The same applies for customers who use SCD on Fat Clients. With the release of version 5.0, operating systems must support 64-bit systems. However, an IT environment which access to SCD via Citrix Terminal Server must not update its client- operating systems as in this case, an update of the Terminal Server to 64-bit systems is sufficient.
Does 2011 bring any challenges for you?

In our Whitepaper (free of charge) we demonstrate what impacts a 64-bit architecture will have on your SCD applications. Looking at the graphic you will notice the added value of the migration to Windows 2008 Servers: Due to the improved administration of the server’s main memory, a significant server reduction is the outcome, running the same amount of SCD services (Calc, STP, Reuters, Limit …).
Contact our SCD experts, who have already successfully conducted this project in 2010. Benefit from the practical experience of our SCD system administrators. For more details, please feel free to request our Whitepaper (free of charge).
